Real Madrid confirm hamstring injury for Ceballos
Dani Ceballos sustained a hamstring injury in Real Madrid's Copa del Rey win on Wednesday and could reportedly miss two months of action.
Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been sidelined by a left hamstring injury and could miss around two months.
Ceballos went down in pain during Madrid's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final tie on Wednesday, when Endrick scored the only goal.
He limped off in the latter stages as Madrid put one foot in the final, which will take place in Seville on April 26.
Spanish media reports have since suggested he could be out for up to two months, which would mean he misses much of the LaLiga run-in and a Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid.
In a medical update posted to their social media accounts on Thursday, Madrid said: "Following tests carried out today on Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semimembranosus muscle affecting the tendon in his left hamstring.
"His recovery will be assessed."
Ceballos has played 31 games in all competitions this season, with 16 of those appearances being starts.
Only on two occasions – in 2022-23 (46) and 2018-19 (34) – has he played more matches for Madrid in a single campaign.
