Is Travis Kelce Retiring? Here’s What He Said After Being Overpowered by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX
Travis Kelce, the 35-year-old veteran of the Kansas City Chiefs, remains uncertain about his future in the NFL and acknowledged that in Super Bowl LIX, his team lost the spark that had made them a dynasty in the past decade.

Travis Kelce's Statements
"It's hard to think about that right now. We're still processing what happened, and we simply couldn't find that spark, that energy that has carried us to be who we are. The only thing we could show is that we fought until the end," said the tight end after the Chiefs' 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL title game.
Kelce, who has been an NFL champion with the Chiefs in Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII, which have solidified the team as the dominant dynasty of the current decade, spoke about how his team will need to face this defeat.
"It's important not to lose hope, never lose faith, especially halfway through the game. That's what we showed. This hurts, but let's let it hurt, and now we have to figure out how to improve because of it," he said.
Travis Kelce also took the opportunity to applaud the performance of the Eagles, who dominated the Chiefs through the third quarter, when the Eagles led 34-6. "I take my hat off to the Eagles. They beat us in all three phases of the game. They chased us, and on top of that, we made mistakes like turnovers, penalties, and dropped passes. We didn't capitalize, and we didn't execute well. We hadn’t played this poorly all year," admitted the player.
Travis Kelce's Records and Achievements in Super Bowl LIX
Despite the loss, Kelce managed to surpass Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most receptions in Super Bowl history. Travis Kelce recorded 35 receptions, surpassing Rice's 33, the San Francisco 49ers legend.
Travis Kelce was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and since then, he has been a key player in five of his team’s Super Bowl appearances, winning three of them. In his 12 seasons, he has been named All-Pro four times and selected to the Pro Bowl 10 times.
