These are the Four Favorites to Win the Super Bowl
Chiefs and Bills dominate the AFC
In the American Football Conference (AFC), the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are the front-runners on the road to Super Bowl LIX, scheduled for February next year.
The reigning champions, the Chiefs, have held their top spot with an impressive 11-1 record. This is despite a quieter season from Patrick Mahomes, who has logged 2,979 passing yards, 19 touchdowns (a career low), and 11 interceptions. While not as dominant as in previous years, Kansas City remains atop the AFC West and is on the verge of clinching its ninth consecutive divisional title.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills, led by Josh Allen, are making waves. With a 10-2 record, they secured their fifth straight AFC East title following a decisive 35-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. With 355 points scored this season, the Bills boast one of the league’s most potent offenses, posing a significant threat to the Chiefs’ quest for their sixth Super Bowl appearance in the last seven years.
Lions and Eagles lead the NFC
In the National Football Conference (NFC), the battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy appears to be a two-horse race between the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Lions, leading the NFC North with an outstanding 11-1 record, are having a historic season. Guided by veteran quarterback Jared Goff, they share the league's best offense with the Baltimore Ravens, tallying 383 points. This performance puts them on track for their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.
On the other hand, the Eagles, with a 10-2 record, boast the NFL's stingiest defense, allowing just 218 points through Week 13. Their offense is also formidable, powered by Saquon Barkley, the league's leading rusher with 1,499 yards.
The path to the Super Bowl seems clear: Chiefs and Bills in the AFC; Lions and Eagles in the NFC. However, in the NFL, surprises are always around the corner, ensuring excitement in every remaining week of the season.
