LeBron James Surpasses Michael Jordan In This Category
LeBron James has achieved another monumental milestone in his career, surpassing one of the greatest basketball legends: Michael Jordan. In a game against the Atlanta Hawks in 2025, James scored 30 points, marking his 563rd game with 30 points or more in his career, thus breaking the record of 562 games set by Jordan in 2003.
This achievement comes after a long journey, as LeBron reached this milestone in his 1,523rd game, after 22 seasons in the NBA. In comparison, Jordan achieved his record in 1,072 games over 15 seasons. LeBron’s effort and dedication to surpassing this mark have not gone unnoticed, and the player himself dedicated his achievement to his idol, Michael Jordan.
"Every time I’m mentioned alongside any of the greats, and possibly the greatest player of all time, it’s amazing. He’s someone I idolized in my childhood, and I wear 23 because of him," LeBron commented, acknowledging Jordan's influence on his career.
This achievement comes at a significant moment in James' career, as he recently celebrated his 40th birthday. Additionally, LeBron is one of the few active players who had the opportunity to witness Jordan at his best during the 1990s while playing for the Chicago Bulls.
In 2019, James had already surpassed Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, a moment that moved him to tears on the Lakers' bench. "Jordan was an inspiration to me, the lightning in a bottle, because I wanted to be like him," LeBron said at the time.
In addition to these records, James continues to showcase his longevity in the league. Last season, he became the all-time leading scorer in NBA history and achieved an impressive record of 1,253 consecutive games scoring at least 10 points, breaking the previous record of Jordan, who had managed 866 consecutive games between 1986 and 2001.
LeBron James continues to write his legacy as one of the greatest players in NBA history, and with each milestone he surpasses, he proves that his time in the league continues to leave a lasting mark.
