Mike Tyson Declares War on Obesity and Processed Food With Strong Statements
Mike Tyson’s Powerful Super Bowl Message on Food and Health
Mike Tyson has taken his fight beyond the boxing ring, delivering a powerful message about nutrition and health during Super Bowl LX, where the Seattle Seahawks faced the New England Patriots.
The boxing legend appeared in a commercial aired during the NFL’s biggest event, later expanding on the message through social media, where his words quickly drew attention.
Mike Tyson’s fight for healthier eating
“The most important fight of my life isn’t in the ring,” Tyson said. “I’m not fighting for a belt. I’m fighting for our health. Processed foods are killing us. We have been lied to and we need to eat real food again.”
Tyson also thanked the MAHA Center, the White House, and Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for allowing him to be part of what he described as a movement toward a healthier future.
The emotional Super Bowl commercial
The 30-second Super Bowl ad, sponsored by the MAHA Center, featured Tyson in a black-and-white setting speaking directly to the camera, visibly emotional, as he reflected on his personal struggles with weight nearly 15 years ago.
The commercial concludes with Tyson taking a bite of an apple — a symbolic gesture promoting healthier eating habits.
“I was so fat and careless. I would eat anything. I got up to about 345 pounds,” Tyson said. “I had so much self-hate when I was like that.”
A personal story behind the message
Tyson revealed he once ate “a quart of ice cream every hour” during one of the most difficult periods of his life. He also shared the tragic loss of his sister Denise, who died at 25 after a heart attack linked to obesity.
