In an atmosphere full of excitement, Carlos Alcaraz was present for the first time at a Premier Padel tournament. The Spanish tennis player spoke to the official broadcast of the tour, sharing his thoughts on padel, his friendships with players, and a fun challenge pending with Arturo Coello.

A passion for padel and admiration for the circuit
“I really love padel. I try to play every time I can,” said Alcaraz during his visit to the Miami P1. “It’s my first time here and honestly, I’m really excited to watch it,” he added, clearly thrilled to witness the level of play live.
The tennis star, currently ranked among the best in the world, didn’t hide his admiration for the professional padel circuit and expressed how amazed he was to see the players in action up close. “Watching them live is amazing,” he said.
A pending match with Coello
Asked about his friendship with Arturo Coello, who recently came to watch him at the Miami Open, Alcaraz shared a fun anecdote. “We’ve never trained together, but when I saw him at the tennis, I told him that someday he should play tennis and I’ll play padel with him,” he recalled with a smile.
That exchange left an open door for a future crossover between the two athletes, one that fans of both sports would surely enjoy seeing.
Focused on the year ahead

As the Premier Padel Miami P1 nears its conclusion, Alcaraz reflected briefly on what lies ahead in his season on the ATP Tour. “Yes, I’m very excited and already getting things ready,” he said confidently.
With this spontaneous visit, Carlos Alcaraz not only showed his support for padel and his friends within the sport, but also left the door open to future interactions with the discipline — maybe even from inside the court someday.
