Rwanda will host Liberia on Friday, September 25, at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, in the opening round of the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers.

The match will kick off at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT and will be available LIVE on beIN SPORTS, with streaming access through beIN SPORTS CONNECT in the United States.

How Rwanda Arrive

Rwanda begin their qualifying campaign under head coach Stephen Constantine, who named a provisional squad for the opening matches against Liberia and Cape Verde.

The selection includes experienced internationals such as Ange Mutsinzi, Djihad Bizimana and Innocent Nshuti, alongside attacking options Noam Emeran and Joy-Lance Mickels.

The Amavubi have been preparing for their opening encounter with a training camp in Kigali, bringing together locally based players and those playing abroad.

Constantine, who returned to the national team in March 2026, will look to guide Rwanda back to the Africa Cup of Nations after more than two decades away from the tournament.

The national team's only previous appearance came in 2004, making qualification for the 2027 edition a significant objective.

Following Friday's encounter, Rwanda will travel to face Cape Verde on September 29 in their second Group K fixture.

How Liberia Arrive

Liberia enter the qualifying campaign under head coach Mohammed Adil Erradi, who named a 24-man squad for the opening matches against Rwanda and Mali.

The Lone Star have been preparing in Kigali, where the national team held training sessions ahead of Friday's encounter.

Captain Oscar Dorley is among the players available to Erradi, alongside Solomon Tweh, Sampson Dweh and Divine Teah.

The squad also includes Franklin Nyenetue, who could make his senior international debut after joining the national team's preparations.

Liberia will look to begin their qualifying campaign with a positive result as they pursue their first appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations since 2002.

Following their visit to Kigali, the Lone Star will return home to face Mali on September 29 in their second Group K fixture.

A Crucial Opening Match in Group K

Rwanda and Liberia share Group K with Mali and Cape Verde, making their opening encounter an important opportunity to collect points before facing their other group rivals.

The top two teams in Group K will qualify for AFCON 2027, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

With six qualifying matches scheduled for each team, both nations will be looking to begin their campaigns with a positive result as they pursue a place at the continental tournament.
