When and Where Will The AFCON 2025 be Played?
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the match schedule for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, a tournament that will be held in six cities and feature nine stadiums for Africa's premier sporting event.
The tournament will kick off on December 21, 2025, with the opening match between Morocco and Comoros, to be played at the newly built Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, with a capacity of 69,500 spectators, a fitting venue for the grand opening.
Rabat will be the main host city, with four stadiums in the city. Additionally, other host cities such as Casablanca, Agadir, Marrakech, Fez, and Tangier will host at least one stadium for the matches. The quarter-final fixtures will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, as well as in Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.
The semifinals will be held in Rabat and Tangier, while the third-place play-off will take place at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. A total of 52 matches will be played over 29 days, offering fans a football feast that highlights the skill and passion of African football.
Morocco, hosting the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 1988, is also preparing to co-host the FIFA World Cup 2030.
