Libya and Zambia will open the 2026 Futsal AFCON on Monday, October 12 at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall in Rabat. The match kicks off at 1:00 PM ET and will be available live on beIN SPORTS.

Libya aim to stay among Africa’s best

The Mediterranean Knights arrive in Morocco with strong credentials after finishing third at the 2024 edition, where they defeated Egypt on penalties. African champions in 2008, Libya now begin a new chapter under Pereira da Silva and will look to make a strong start in a Group A that also features hosts and defending champions Morocco.

Zambia want to show how far they have come

Zambia return to the tournament with Andrea Cristoforetti still in charge and with more experience than they had in 2024. Their preparations included two friendlies against Egypt, and the coach believes those matches have helped his team close the gap on Africa’s more established futsal nations.

The opener against Libya will be Zambia’s first chance to measure that progress while also chasing valuable early points in a group where only the top two teams advance to the semifinals.
