There no doubt that the atmosphere inside the Real Madrid squad is as strong as ever. Just days before the start of the Club World Cup, Eduardo Camavinga shared a selfie on social media that has caught the attention of Madrid fans. The image highlights the team’s unity but especially the growing bond between Kylian Mbappé and Trent Alexander-Arnold, the latest addition to the squad.

The English full-back has been warmly welcomed by his new teammates. After leaving Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold arrives in Madrid with high expectations, joining the team just in time for the Club World Cup. Real Madrid sped up his signing to ensure his eligibility for the tournament.
On Thursday, the 26-year-old officially signed his contract with Real Madrid, which will run until June 30, 2031. During his presentation, he posed with his new jersey, which will feature the name “Trent” and the number 12.
After 20 years at Anfield, Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool as one of the world top right backs. During his time with the Reds, he won nine major trophies, including the 2019 Champions League and the Premier League titles in 2020 and 2025.
On the international stage, he has played in three major tournaments with England: the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, and Euro 2024.
Real Madrid had long been tracking Alexander-Arnold and made an attempt to sign him in January to replace captain Dani Carvajal, who had been sidelined since October. However, Liverpool rejected that initial offer.
Later, the Premier League champions confirmed that Alexander-Arnold had informed them he would not be renewing his contract, stating he was looking for “a new challenge.” This opened the door for Madrid to negotiate an early transfer before his deal expired on June 30, allowing him to join in time for the Club World Cup.
According to sources close to the club, Madrid believes that Alexander-Arnold involvement in the tournament in the United States will help him adapt more quickly to the team and boost their chances of lifting the trophy.
