(VIDEO) Cristiano Ronaldo Nears the 1000-Goal Milestone
Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved decisive on Saturday, scoring a brace in Al Nassr’s 2-1 win over Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League. With these two goals, the Portuguese legend now boasts 933 career goals, including 38 this season, and edges closer the 1,000-goal mark.
Second-half comeback led by Ronaldo
Al Nassr, coached by Stefano Pioli, trailed at halftime after a goal from Faiz Selemanie in stoppage time. But as has become routine, Ronaldo stepped up in the second half to flip the script.
At the 56th minute, he tapped in a pinpoint assist from Sadio Mané to level the score. Just eight minutes later, he struck again — this time with a stunning volley from the edge of the box, a goal that left Canadian keeper Milan Borjan with no chance.
Still in the title race
The victory keeps Al Nassr in third place, just one point behind Al Hilal and eight off league leaders Al Ittihad. The match also saw Al Riyadh finish with ten men after Ahmad Asiri was shown a red card in the final minutes.
At 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down. With 933 goals in professional matches, he continues climbing the all-time rankings and closes in on Pelé’s disputed total, often listed between 757 and 1,283 depending on the source.
