Ancelotti Talks About Brazil Job and Vows to End Real Madrid Era on a High Note
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed he will take over as Brazil’s national team coach starting May 26, but emphasized his focus is on finishing his final weeks with Real Madrid in the best way possible.
A New Chapter Begins, But Focus Remains on Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti spoke publicly for the first time on Tuesday after it was officially announced that he will become head coach of the Brazil national team beginning May 26. During a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s upcoming match against Mallorca, the Italian coach shared his excitement for the new challenge but stressed that his priority remains on completing his time in Madrid with professionalism.

“From the 26th, I’ll officially be the coach of Brazil. It’s a big challenge, but until then, I’m still the coach of Real Madrid, and I want to finish this incredible chapter in the right way,” said Ancelotti.
With his usual calm demeanor, he even joked about the press conference: “If it weren’t for this press conference, today would’ve been perfect. But I have to talk about things I don’t really want to, because I still wear the Real Madrid shirt, and I respect it a lot. I’m very happy about everything that’s happening.”
Respecting Madrid and Avoiding Distractions
When asked about the timing of the announcement, Ancelotti clarified that it was the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) who made it public: “They released the statement, so now it’s official. From the 26th, I’ll be coaching Brazil. Real Madrid will make their own announcement whenever they feel it’s the right time. Every club does things their own way.”
The coach declined to comment on how he will prepare his first squad for Brazil, insisting that his mind is fully on Madrid’s final three matches. “I know exactly what these next two weeks will look like. I’m focused on preparing the games that are left. And after the 25th, I’ll move on to the next thing.”
Ancelotti emphasized his respect for the club, its fans, and players, and reaffirmed his commitment to staying locked in until his final day: “I’m completely focused on doing my job right and closing this chapter with the dignity it deserves.”
While the football world eagerly anticipates his debut with Brazil, Carlo Ancelotti remains determined to end his successful stint at the Santiago Bernabéu with professionalism, pride, and results.
