Barcelona's Urgent Bid to Clear Dani Olmo for Supercopa
The Catalan club has requested urgent precautionary measures to allow Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to play in the Supercopa. Time is running against them.
FC Barcelona has filed an urgent appeal with the Spanish Sports Council (CSD) requesting precautionary measures to allow players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor to be re-registered in LaLiga.
According to sources from the club, the Catalan side expects a response from the CSD in the coming hours. Barcelona remains hopeful that first-team coach Hansi Flick will be able to count on both players for the Spanish Super Cup, set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, starting this Wednesday.
On Saturday, January 4, the Monitoring Commission of the LaLiga-RFEF Coordination Agreement rejected Barcelona's request to reinstate Olmo and Víctor after LaLiga removed them from the competition on January 1.
The league body argued that Barcelona had not submitted all necessary documentation on time regarding the leasing of VIP boxes at the new Spotify Camp Nou, a key element in renewing the players' registration.
