Benzema Visit Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia
Karim Benzema surprised everyone on Thursday by visiting Real Madrid players at their team hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The French striker, currently playing for Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, took the opportunity to reconnect with his former teammates and head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
A Special Reunion Before the Supercopa
Ahead of the Supercopa de España semifinal, where Real Madrid will face Mallorca tonight at King Abdullah Stadium, Benzema stopped by the hotel to greet his former colleagues. In images shared by the club on social media, he is seen chatting with players such as Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, who is celebrating his 24th birthday today, as well as fellow Frenchman Kylian Mbappé and English star Jude Bellingham, with whom he did not overlap at Real Madrid following his departure to Saudi Arabia in July 2023.
A Real Madrid Legend
Benzema enjoyed a historic career with Real Madrid, playing for 14 seasons and winning 25 titles, including five Champions League trophies and four LaLiga championships. He scored 354 goals in 648 matches, becoming the club's second all-time leading scorer.
Leading in Saudi Arabia
Now with Al Ittihad, Benzema continues to excel. After 13 rounds in the Saudi Pro League, his team is leading the standings with 36 points, two ahead of Al Hilal, featuring Brazilian star Neymar, and 11 ahead of Al-Nassr, captained by Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo. This season, the French striker has scored 10 goals, maintaining his world-class form in the Gulf region.
Benzema's visit to the Real Madrid squad highlights the enduring connection between the forward and the club where he became a global football legend.
