FIFA has unveiled the seedings for the inaugural edition of the expanded Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States. The draw will be held this Thursday in Miami, the same city hosting the tournament’s opening match on June 15, 2025.

Pot Allocations

Real Madrid headlines Pot 1, joined by elite teams such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Brazilian clubs Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Fluminense, as well as Argentina’s River Plate.

Pot 2, exclusively featuring European clubs, includes Atlético Madrid, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Porto, Benfica, Juventus, and RB Salzburg.

Notable Teams in Pots 3 and 4

Pot 3 features the Copa Libertadores champion, Botafogo, along with Boca Juniors, Mexican teams Monterrey and León, Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, Al Ahly from Egypt, Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia, and Ulsan Hyundai from South Korea.

In Pot 4, we find Inter Miami, led by Lionel Messi, alongside the Seattle Sounders from the U.S., Mexico’s Pachuca, Auckland City from New Zealand, Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds, Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive, Al Ain from the UAE, and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.

Draw Details and Tournament Format

The draw will determine the competition's 8 groups, with the stipulation that teams from the same confederation cannot be placed together, except for European clubs.

The tournament will feature 32 teams from all five continents and will run from June 15 to July 13, 2025. A total of 63 matches will be played across 12 different venues, setting the stage for an exciting global showcase of club football.
