Brazilian star Neymar, currently playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, has tipped France, Spain, and Argentina as the leading contenders to win the 2026 World Cup. However, he hasn’t ruled out Brazil’s chances, expressing confidence in the team’s "strong players" but acknowledging the need for better organization.
In an interview with former Brazilian legend Romário on YouTube, Neymar praised these top nations:
"France, Spain, and Argentina are in a position to become world champions. Argentina is full of confidence," he said, referencing the reigning champions, who lead the South American qualifiers with 25 points.
"The Last Dance" with Brazil
As Neymar approaches his 33rd birthday, he revealed plans to give his all for both club and country leading up to the tournament, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States. He hinted that this World Cup could be his final appearance on the international stage:
"It will be my last dance with Brazil at a World Cup."
Despite challenges, Neymar expressed belief in Brazil’s potential:
"We have strong players who can be champions. Vini (Vinícius Júnior) is one of the best in the world today, and Rodrygo is also at an incredibly high level."
