Rashford Says Goodbye To Barcelona And Will Stay With This Premier League Team
Marcus Rashford has decided to end his options to sign with FC Barcelona. The Manchester United forward has chosen to join Aston Villa for the remainder of the season. This was confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, who announced the news with his signature "Here we go."
The English club, managed by Unai Emery, will cover more than 70% of Rashford's salary, which amounts to around $430,000 per week, meaning an estimated cost of $6.5 million for the five-month loan. Additionally, Aston Villa will have an option to buy the player for approximately $43 million if they choose to sign him permanently after June 30. The agreement between Rashford and Villa will be for three and a half years, and the player is set to undergo medical tests today.
On the other hand, Barça will make no moves in this transfer window. Manager Hansi Flick had made it clear in several press conferences that he was satisfied with his current squad. Additionally, Araujo's renewal was finalized, while Eric García, Christensen, and Ansu Fati will remain with the team until the end of the season.
