Real Madrid Reportedly Helped Brazil Secure Ancelotti Deal
The appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as the new head coach of the Brazilian national team has not only marked the beginning of a new era for the Seleção, but it also came with the backing of Real Madrid, according to an official statement from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
On Monday, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues publicly acknowledged the institutional support received from the Spanish club during the negotiation process that led to Ancelotti's appointment.
"I want to thank the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, and the club’s general director, José Ángel Sánchez, for their understanding, dialogue, and support, which made this deal possible," Rodrigues said in an official video released by the CBF.
Commitment to Real Madrid Until Season’s End
Rodrigues clarified that Ancelotti will remain at the helm of Real Madrid until the end of the current LaLiga EA Sports season. Once his contract is fulfilled, he will fully take on his responsibilities as Brazil's head coach.
His official debut will come on June 5, when Brazil faces Ecuador in Guayaquil as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup South American Qualifiers.
Ancelotti’s first match on home soil will be on June 10 against Paraguay, at the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo.
Call-Up and Timeline
The CBF confirmed that Ancelotti will announce his first Brazil squad on May 26, just one day after the conclusion of Real Madrid’s season. The announcement will take place from the CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.
The institutional cooperation from Real Madrid has been key in finalizing this historic agreement, bringing one of the most successful managers in world football to the Brazilian bench.
With Ancelotti’s arrival, Brazil sets its sights on reclaiming global glory at the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
