Real Madrid Turns into a True Infirmary as Another Star Joins The Injury List
The situation at Valdebebas is anything but encouraging. Just hours before their clash against Mallorca, Real Madrid has confirmed yet another addition to its long list of absentees. This time it’s Brahim Díaz, who is dealing with discomfort in his left abductor and will miss Wednesday’s match at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The Spanish-Moroccan attacker tried to make himself available for the match, but after being evaluated by the medical staff, the decision was made not to risk further injury. His absence adds to that of Andriy Lunin, who was ruled out earlier in the day with a hand contusion.
With these two new absences, the total number of unavailable players—due to injuries or suspension—rises to twelve, an alarming figure even for a club as deep as Real Madrid. Also out with injuries are key figures such as Vinícius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Éder Militão, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Antonio Rüdiger, Eduardo Camavinga, Lucas Vázquez, and Dani Carvajal. On top of that, Aurélien Tchouaméni will miss the match due to a suspension for accumulated yellow cards.
A depleted squad to face Mallorca
The crisis is so severe that Carlo Ancelotti will have only ten first-team players available to face Mallorca. This is particularly concerning considering league regulations, which state that each team must field at least seven players from the senior squad throughout the match. Failure to comply could lead to penalties for fielding an ineligible lineup.

The match against Mallorca, scheduled for 9:30 PM (CEST), will be a challenge not only on the field but also in terms of squad management. Ancelotti will be forced to call up players from Real Madrid Castilla to complete the squad and avoid sanctions.
For now, Brahim Díaz is also a doubt for Sunday’s clash against Sevilla, a match that could prove decisive in the final stretch of the season. Meanwhile, concerns are growing in Madrid about the physical condition of a squad stretched to its limits.
Real Madrid is going through one of its most difficult spells of the season in terms of injuries, and the coming weeks will be a true test of endurance for a team still fighting at the top of Spanish football.
