After the final whistle, the Brazilian and the Englishman pushed each other on the pitch, faced off, and threw punches. Jack Grealish from City also joined the brawl until the rest of the players and members of both teams' coaching staff separated them, preventing the situation from escalating.
Manchester City secured their first Club World Cup title by defeating the Copa Libertadores champion 4-0 in the final played in Jeddah. It was the fifth trophy for the English team this season and the fourth Club World Cup title for Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, the coach with the most wins in this competition.
