Former Real Madrid Boss Believes Mbappé and Vinícius Jr. Are Not Happy
Former Real Madrid player and sporting director Predrag Mijatović has issued a warning to Los Blancos, focusing on Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior. According to the Montenegrin, fan support for the Brazilian winger has diminished in recent years, while the French superstar may be feeling frustrated due to unmet expectations on the pitch.
Mbappé joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain last summer on a free transfer, completing what many have called the club’s new generation of Galácticos.
Mbappé Frustration Over Missed Trophies
Individually, Mbappé had a memorable debut season at the Santiago Bernabéu, scoring 44 goals in 59 appearancesacross all competitions. However, he failed to win any domestic trophies, and the club was eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals by Arsenal a bitter end for a player used to competing at the very top.
Vinícius Struggles with Mbappé Rising Spotlight
Meanwhile, Vinícius Júnior had a disappointing campaign in terms of goal output, netting only 22 goals in 58 matches. According to Mijatović, this drop in form may have caused a noticeable decline in the affection the fans once had for the Seleção star.
Speaking to reporters, the 56-year-old commented:
“When you're rebuilding a team and looking for the next Modrić, Kroos, or Casemiro... you can’t do it all in one summer. The club must make several important decisions. If Vinícius, Mbappé, or Rodrygo are not happy and don’t feel the support of the club, they won’t perform. I don’t know if the fans still love Vinícius like they did two or three years ago or if he still respects them the same way.”.
Too Many Stars, Not Enough Balance
Mijatović also questioned the club’s transfer strategy:
“I keep saying it — stockpiling big-name players with massive market value can be counterproductive. You have a valuable asset, but you're not getting the most out of them. As the months go by, that player stops being happy, and you don’t know if you’ll even be able to sell him next year.”
Egos, Frustration, and an Uncertain Future
Without a doubt, Mijatović’s remarks shed light on the internal tensions brewing at Real Madrid — a team caught between rising egos, Mbappé’s frustration over unmet goals, and Vinícius’s declining influence on the pitch. The question now is whether they can turn things around or risk letting these issues affect the entire squad.
