Jadon Sancho’s career is going through one of its most unexpected chapters. The English winger, who was considered one of the most talented players of his generation during his early years in Germany, continues to search for a club ahead of the 2026-27 season.

While waiting for a new opportunity, the 26-year-old has turned to a setting very different from those that marked the beginning of his professional career.

A scene difficult to imagine several years ago

Sancho was spotted training at the facilities of Flixton FC, a club competing in the tenth tier of English football.

The forward’s presence there sparked speculation about a potential move or a trial with the team. However, the club’s board quickly clarified the situation.

Flixton FC’s chairman explained that Sancho had only used the facilities for a private training session to remain in good physical condition while deciding on the next step in his career.

“He was not on trial with the club and was not involved in any transfer negotiations,” the chairman said.

A somewhat difficult setback

The winger reached the elite level during his first spell with Borussia Dortmund, where he began to stand out at just 18 years old and was named to the 2018-19 Bundesliga Team of the Season.

His performances attracted the attention of Manchester United, who paid approximately €85 million to bring him back to England in 2021.

However, Sancho was never able to establish himself at Old Trafford, and his performances fell well short of the level he had shown during his early years in Germany.

A new chapter still without a destination

The Englishman became a free agent after failing to renew his contract with Manchester United and continues to assess his options for the 2026-27 campaign.

His session at Flixton FC’s ground does not represent negotiations with the modest English club, but rather a way of staying prepared while waiting for an offer that would allow him to return to professional football.
