End of the Saga: Kimmich Extends His Contract with Bayern Until 2029
Bayern Munich has put an end to speculation about Joshua Kimmich's future. The Bavarian club announced the extension of the midfielder’s contract until June 30, 2029, securing the continuity of one of its most emblematic players.
"This summer marks ten years since the captain of the German national team started playing in Munich," Bayern highlighted, recalling the journey of Kimmich, who was born 30 years ago in Rottweil, in the Baden-Württemberg region.
Throughout his career with the Bavarian team, Kimmich has won multiple titles, including eight Bundesliga championships, three German Cups, one Champions League, and one Club World Cup. His leadership and consistency have made him a key figure for both Bayern and the German national team, where he has been captain since 2023.
Kimmich, Committed to Bayern
The midfielder expressed his enthusiasm for continuing with the club: "At Bayern Munich, I have the best environment to achieve my sporting goals. I made my decision based on that. Right now, there is no better group of teammates, coaching staff, and club environment for me to maximize my success," he stated in the official announcement.
Since joining in the 2015-2016 season from RB Leipzig, Kimmich has played 429 matches, scoring 43 goals and providing 115 assists. His versatility and quality have cemented him as one of the best midfielders in Europe.
With the German national team, he has played 97 matches and scored seven goals. Now, with his future secured, Kimmich focuses on continuing to achieve success with Bayern Munich and leading Germany in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024.
