The ‘Kimmich Case’ at Bayern Munich seems to have come to an end… with a happy, at least initially, outcome for the German team. After several weeks (and even months) full of uncertainty, various German media outlets have reported that, finally, Joshua Kimmich has decided to continue his career at Bayern Munich and will renew his contract until 2029.

The tension surrounding Joshua Kimmich and his upcoming future at Bayern Munich in recent weeks has been more than evident. Especially after Sky Sports and BILD revealed that the Bayern Munich management had decided to withdraw the renewal offer due to the lack of any response from the German player.

Since then, several clubs have started to pick up on the situation surrounding Kimmich in Germany, and at least began showing interest in signing him as a free agent at the end of the current season. Last summer, he was linked with Barcelona, weeks ago with Real Madrid, and most recently, with Arsenal and PSG.

The truth is that Joshua Kimmich did not shy away from admitting that the interest and proposals from other clubs made him reconsider his decision. But never because of a money issue: “It’s not about squeezing out every last euro. We’ve had very good conversations. I also feel that Max (Eberl) is very honest and is fighting. I really appreciate that.”

Christoph Freund, another of the sporting directors at Bayern Munich, has appeared before the media to clarify that “there is nothing to announce,” emphasizing that when there is something official, they will communicate it. According to reports from various German media outlets in the last few hours, Kimmich's renewal announcement will come soon.
