Former Barcelona Youth Player Xavi Simons Close To Signing With Chelsea in a Multi-Million Transfer
Chelsea continues to be very active in the transfer market and is now targeting another young talent who promises to shake up the Premier League. This player is Xavi Simons, a former Barcelona player and current attacking midfielder for RB Leipzig, who is very close to becoming a new reinforcement for the Blues for the upcoming season.
Former Barcelona star about to join Chelsea
Despite having a valid contract with RB Leipzig until 2027 and completing a solid season with 11 goals and 8 assists, Simons seems determined to change course. The German team finished seventh in the Bundesliga, missing out on European competitions, which appears to have been decisive for the Dutch international to consider a new destination.
According to reports from German media such as Sky Sport Germany, the player has already given his approval to sign with the London club, and both parties have reached a verbal agreement. The transfer could exceed 70 million euros, although Chelsea is considering including Carney Chukwuemeka, valued at 20 million euros, as part of the negotiation to reduce the final cost.

Simons, who was trained at La Masía before moving to PSG, was acquired by RB Leipzig in a deal exceeding 50 million euros. However, his performance has not been enough to convince the club to keep him at all costs, and they would be willing to let him go if the offer meets their expectations.
With the recent addition of several young talents such as Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, João Pedro, and Estevão, Chelsea continues strengthening its attacking front under an ambitious strategy for the next season. After winning the Conference League and the Club World Cup, the Stamford Bridge team aims to take another step forward in quality.
If the deal is finalized, Xavi Simons would return to a top European league and have the opportunity to keep growing in a competitive environment, while Chelsea would continue adding promising players with the potential to become global stars. All signs point to the English capital as the next destination for the talented Dutchman.
