Luis Díaz Is Already in Germany: This Is How the Colombian Arrived at Bayern Munich After Leaving Liverpool
Time to wear the Bavarian red. Luis Díaz has landed in Germany and Bayern Munich is waiting for him with open arms. How was his arrival? How much did they pay? And what’s next for the Colombian star?
New club, new dreams
Luis Díaz is just hours away from becoming an official Bayern Munich player. The Colombian winger landed in Germany this Monday and, after weeks of rumors, speculation and top-tier offers, he’s set to join the German powerhouse. He’s expected to sign a four-year contract, with an option for a fifth, and a salary far above what he earned at Liverpool.
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, the transfer was sealed for €75 million plus €5 million in add-ons. Múnich will now become home for the Guajiro, who’s eager to keep growing at one of the world’s biggest clubs.
First images in his new home
Díaz arrived early Monday after leaving Liverpool’s preseason tour in Asia. Upon landing in Munich, he was picked up by club staff and taken to his place of rest. A video already circulating on social media shows him calmly walking, while press photographers waited to capture the moment.
Although he hasn't been officially presented, Díaz is scheduled to undergo medical tests on Tuesday, July 29, before signing his contract with the German club. If all goes well, he’ll attend his first training session on Wednesday at Säbener Straße.
When could he make his debut?
There’s no time to waste—Bayern faces Olympique Lyon this Saturday. It’s still unclear whether Luis Díaz will be included in the squad, but his arrival has already created buzz among fans and media in Germany.
After a brilliant stint at Liverpool, where he won the hearts of Anfield, the Colombian begins a brand-new adventure in the Bundesliga. Same talent, new jersey.
