Vinicius Souza swaps Sheffield United for Wolfsburg
Following Sheffield United's failure to gain promotion from the Championship in 2024-25, Vinicius Souza has moved to Wolfsburg.
Vinicius Souza has left Sheffield United for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in a deal reportedly worth €15million.
The Brazilian joined Sheffield United ahead of their 2023-24 Premier League campaign after an eye-catching loan spell with Espanyol, impressing despite the Blades' relegation.
He won 75 tackles that season, the most in the Premier League, with only then-Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha (152) and Wolves' Joao Gomes (128) attempting more than his 125.
Vinicius then played 35 times as Sheffield United narrowly missed out on a top-flight return last season, finishing third in the Championship and losing to Sunderland in the play-off final.
Following the Blades' failure to get back to the big time, they have sanctioned his move to Wolfsburg on a five-year contract.
The 26-year-old joins a Wolfsburg side that finished 11th in the German top flight in 2024-25. They open their new campaign against Heidenheim on August 23.
