Internacional Thrash Atlético Nacional 3-0 at Home
Internacional de Porto Alegre dominated Atlético Nacional 3-0 on Thursday, with a hat-trick from midfielder Alan Patrick in the second match of Group F in the Copa Libertadores.
The first goal of the match came after Wesley was fouled in the area by defender William Tesillo, leading to a penalty, which Patrick converted in the 50th minute.
The Colombian side, managed by Argentine Javier Marcelo Gandolfi, played more than half of the second half with 10 men after Marino Hinestroza was shown a red card in the 69th minute for a reckless challenge on Vitinho.
In the 78th minute, Dairon Asprilla committed another foul in the area, and the referee awarded another penalty.
Patrick scored his second penalty in the 82nd minute to put the game out of reach for Atlético Nacional.
To complete his hat-trick, Patrick added a fine finish in the 88th minute to seal the victory for Roger Machado’s men.
Internacional leads Group F with 4 points, followed by Bahia with the same points but a lower goal difference. Atlético Nacional has 3 points, while Nacional de Montevideo is at the bottom of the group with two losses.
In Matchday 3, Internacional will host Nacional de Montevideo at the Beira-Rio on Tuesday, April 22, while Bahia will host Atlético Nacional on Thursday, April 24, at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.
