La Bombonera Exploded Against Boca Juniors: "They All Should Leave"
Boca Juniors fans showed their discontent after the elimination against Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores
Playing a match at La Bombonera is a double-edged weapon. There are few fanbases as loyal to their team as Boca Juniors. But it is also a demanding crowd that doesn’t hesitate to show their displeasure when they feel things aren’t working. A situation that has become recurrent in recent times... and it exploded after the elimination against Alianza Lima in the Copa Libertadores.

The chants at La Bombonera
Just minutes after Guillermo Viscarra saved the decisive penalty from Alan Velasco that led to Boca Juniors' elimination, the entire crowd at La Bombonera began booing Fernando Gago and all the players, chanting the now-famous “they all should leave, not a single one should stay.”
Fernando Gago and all the players of Boca Juniors left the field visibly affected by what had happened during the match and the fans' reaction. “Move, Boca, move,” was heard repeatedly from the stands. This chant had already been heard the previous weekend when Boca narrowly defeated Aldosivi.
Messages to Gago on social media
The fans' reaction extended beyond the stadium, and, of course, to social media. Most messages were aimed at Fernando Gago, who has been the main one blamed for Boca Juniors' defeat: “Leave Gago, your cycle is over”; “Gago needs to resign right now”; “Let Gago resign on his own,” were some of the messages circulating on ‘X’.
For now, Bolavip confirmed that Juan Román Riquelme has no intention of firing Fernando Gago in the coming hours and that he will stay on the bench at La Bombonera to face Rosario Central. However, if he doesn’t win against the unbeaten leader of Group B in the Argentine League, no one knows what could happen. The fans, certainly, have already passed their judgment.
