River Plate Draws in Quito and Stays Top of Group B in The Copa Libertadores
River Plate secured a valuable 2-2 draw against Independiente del Valle at 2,850 meters of altitude in Quito, holding on to the top spot in Group B of the Copa Libertadores.
Despite missing six starters due to injury, the Argentine side bounced back in the second half thanks to goals from Giuliano Galoppo and Sebastián Driussi, who leveled the score after a brace from Claudio Spinelli had put the Ecuadorians ahead.

The team coached by Spaniard Javier Rabanal stunned early with an intense start, but couldn't maintain the lead against a resilient River, who once again showcased their competitive spirit in the continental tournament.
A point that feels like a win
With this result, River Plate remains unbeaten and atop the group with 5 points, followed by Independiente del Valle and Barcelona SC, both with 4. Universitario sits at the bottom with 3 points. In the next matchday, the Argentine giants will face Barcelona SC in Ecuador, while Independiente del Valle will travel to Lima to take on Universitario.
