The Peruvian side aims to seal the series in Brazil, while the Tricolores count on a comeback led by Martín Braithwaite.
Gremio and Alianza Lima will face off this Wednesday in the second leg of the 2025 Copa Sudamericana playoff, with the Brazilian club needing to overcome a 2-0 deficit and the Peruvian team hoping to repeat their strong first-leg performance.
The match will be played at Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre and will be broadcast exclusively on beIN SPORTS USA, with the following U.S. kickoff times: 8:30 PM ET, 7:30 PM CT, 6:30 PM MT, and 5:30 PM PT.
Braithwaite Returns as Gremio Aims for a Comeback
Head coach Mano Menezes appealed to the club’s legacy to inspire his players: “Of the three comebacks from 0-2 that Gremio has made, I was in charge for two,” he stated. The key news for the Brazilian side is the return of Danish striker Martín Braithwaite, who missed the first leg due to injury.
Uruguayan winger Cristian Olivera may also return after recovering from a domestic accident. Gremio needs at least two goals to force penalties and stay in the race for a Round of 16 spot, where Universidad Católica of Ecuador awaits.
Alianza Lima Hopes to Land a Knockout Blow
On the other side, Alianza Lima enters with momentum after their first-leg win. Lining up with an aggressive yet disciplined approach, the Peruvian squad led by Néstor Gorosito aims to score early and take the wind out of the hosts’ sails.

Key players include Argentine-Peruvian Gaspar Gentile, Ecuadorian winger Eryc Castillo, and the experienced 41-year-old striker Paolo Guerrero. The only confirmed absence is forward Alan Cantero, out due to a muscle injury.
