Mbappé Will Not Play in the Copa del Rey With Real Madrid!
The French forward has not been included in the squad to face Real Sociedad after undergoing surgery on a tooth
After the impressive match between FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid in the first semifinal of the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid is traveling to San Sebastián to face Real Sociedad… and they will do so without their best player in recent months: Kylian Mbappé.

What problem does Mbappé have?
According to reports in Spain, Kylian Mbappé underwent surgery on a tooth last Monday and was notably absent from Real Madrid’s final training session before the Copa del Rey match against Real Sociedad. It’s a minor issue, but it will prevent him from playing in the match.
Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in a press conference that Mbappé would travel to San Sebastián with the rest of his teammates… though he didn’t reveal whether he would be a starter in attack. However, Real Madrid presented the list of called-up players for the match this morning, and Mbappé’s name was not included. Neither were the names of two other key players, Courtois and Valverde.
Results for Real Madrid without Mbappé
This will be the third match of the season in which Kylian Mbappé will be absent for Real Madrid. The first was in September against Atlético de Madrid due to a muscle issue; the second, also for the same reason, in December against Rayo Vallecano; and the third was on February 5 in the previous Copa del Rey round against Leganés, as decided by Ancelotti.
The results for Real Madrid when Mbappé has not been available this season have not been very encouraging, as they ended in two draws against Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano… and one victory in extra time against Leganés. Therefore, we’ll see if Real Madrid can defeat Real Sociedad tonight in the Copa del Rey without Kylian Mbappé.
