Dembélé Destroys this Record of Mbappé and Leads PSG Toward the Treble
Ousmane Dembélé surpassed Mbappé's 23 goals in a calendar year with PSG to lead the comeback against Dunkerque in the Coupe de France
As incredible as it may seem, PSG experienced their most challenging night of the season in their visit to Dunkerque of Ligue 2 in search of a spot in the Coupe de France final. But, once again, Dembélé reflected the great form he’s in by scoring two goals to lead PSG's comeback… and equalized an impressive record set by Kylian Mbappé.

Dembélé rescues PSG vs Dunkerque
All alarms went off in France when it was discovered that Dunkerque was leading PSG 2-0 with their only two shots on target in the entire first half. The team, managed by Luis Enrique, was on the ropes against the breakout team of the Coupe de France 2025… until Dembélé took charge and carried the whole team on his back to fix the match.
Just before halftime, Dembélé took advantage of a pass from Hakimi to pull one back. A psychological goal for PSG… which helped them equalize the tie after the break. Once again, with Dembélé as the main protagonist, he sent in a cross that Marquinhos headed home at the far post. Doué put PSG ahead past the hour mark… and Dembélé reappeared in injury time to seal the tie.
Dembélé surpasses this record of Mbappé
The games keep coming, and what seemed like an excellent run of form… has now become Ousmane Dembélé's true level. This season, he has scored 32 goals in 39 matches, as well as providing eight assists, bringing his career total to 100 goals. That means over 30% of the goals he’s scored since his debut 10 years ago with Rennes have come this season with PSG. Impressive.
Additionally, 24 of those 32 goals have come since the turn of the year. A record that, with several matches still left to play until the end of the season, has allowed him to surpass Kylian Mbappé as PSG's top scorer in a calendar year. Impressive numbers from Ousmane Dembélé, who is leading PSG toward the treble. They are already in the Coupe final, they could win Ligue 1 this round… and it looks like they’re in the best position ever to lift the Champions League for the first time.
