Cavani Aims High in the Club World Cup: "Boca's Goal Is to Win Every Tournament"
Edison Cavani expressed his ambitious goals for Boca Juniors in the upcoming Club World Cup
After the dramatic elimination against Alianza Lima in the preliminary round of the Copa Libertadores, it seems that Boca Juniors is returning to normal. Gago, for now, seems to have saved his position as coach after securing five consecutive victories… and Cavani expressed his ambition regarding Boca Juniors' aspirations in the Club World Cup.

Boca's path in the Club World Cup
"Competing in this tournament is a new experience for my career. It’s something beautiful. This club has a lot of history in this type of competition, and it’s an honor for me. We will enjoy it and take it on with a lot of commitment," said Edison Cavani in an exclusive interview with the official FIFA channel.
The Club World Cup draw revealed that Boca Juniors will face Benfica, Bayern Munich, and Auckland City in Group C. In other words, on paper, they come in as the third contender behind Bayern Munich and Benfica… but they are confident that their chances of advancing to the next round are high. Especially if they get a good result in the first match against the Portuguese team before finishing up with Auckland.
Cavani wants to win the Club World Cup with Boca
The second match against Bayern Munich, however, will play a key role in Boca Juniors' future in the Club World Cup: "I think that, due to history, the match against Bayern Munich will be special. It will be experienced in a big way. We hope things go well for us and that the team can rise to the occasion," said Cavani.
Cavani knows it won’t be easy. But he is aware of the greatness surrounding Boca and isn’t afraid to aim high: "The goal is always the highest. Boca’s history demands it, and every tournament they play, they must win. We aspire to win it, putting together a good tournament to get closer to that historic achievement."
