Club World Cup 2025 Ball to Assist Referees with Innovative Technology
FIFA announced this Friday that the official ball for the 2025 Club World Cup will feature advanced technology to help referees make faster and more accurate decisions throughout the tournament.
A Smart Ball with Artificial Intelligence
Manufactured by Adidas, the ball will not only include technological innovations but will also showcase a special design with striking graphics and emblems representing the United States, the host country, in colors inspired by its flag.
The ball has been developed to enhance precision in gameplay, improve aerodynamic stability, and maintain its shape and pressure for longer, allowing for a faster and more dynamic style of play. Additionally, it will transmit real-time motion data to the VAR system, enabling referees to make quicker and more precise decisions with the help of artificial intelligence.
The Teams Competing for the Title
The tournament will take place from June 14 to July 13 and will feature 32 teams. Among the qualified clubs are Spanish sides Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid; English teams Chelsea and Manchester City; Portuguese clubs Porto and Benfica; German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund; Italian representatives Inter Milan and Juventus; and French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.
From the Americas, the competition will include Argentine clubs River Plate and Boca Juniors; Brazilian teams Palmeiras, Fluminense, Botafogo, and Flamengo; as well as Mexican sides Pachuca, León, and Monterrey. Representing MLS will be Inter Miami and Seattle Sounders.
Other participating teams include Egyptian side Al Ahly, Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca, South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, Tunisian team Espérance Sportive, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds, UAE’s Al Ain, South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai, and New Zealand’s Auckland City.
With this new technology, the 2025 Club World Cup promises more accurate officiating, enhancing the experience for both players and fans.
