Florentino Pérez Puts All Eyes on Real Madrid Ahead of 2025 Club World Cup
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has raised expectations for the club’s next big challenge: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. During a ceremony honoring the club’s longest-standing members, Pérez highlighted Madrid’s recent success and made it clear—the ambition never stops.
“At This Club, We Always Want More”
In his speech, Pérez celebrated Madrid’s major accomplishments over the past season, including the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, which marked the club’s ninth world title.
“Our team has added two more trophies to a record that will be very difficult to match. And now, we’re excited to face the Club World Cup in the United States,” he declared.
With that, Pérez positioned Real Madrid as a clear favorite for the expanded tournament and made no secret of the club’s goal to keep rewriting history on the global stage.
Farewell to Legends: Ancelotti and Modrić
The event also served as a heartfelt farewell to two club icons: Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modrić. Florentino paid tribute to their legacy with emotional words:
“Our recognition and admiration for our dear Carlo Ancelotti and Luka Modrić. Thank you for everything you’ve given us.”
Both men could have their final connection with the club during the Club World Cup—Ancelotti as Brazil’s national team coach, and Modrić likely playing his last matches in a Madrid shirt.
