For Scaloni, "The Club World Cup Will Be a Spectacle"
Lionel Scaloni, head coach of the Argentina national team, assured that the FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, “will be a spectacle.”
The Coach's Perspective on the International Competition
“The best teams in the world are coming together. It’s true that European clubs can spend their entire budget while South American teams cannot, but they will compete. The competition is much more balanced nowadays,” Scaloni said in an interview with DSports.
Speaking from Mallorca, the coach reinforced his excitement: “The World Cup will be a unique show. Of course, we can discuss whether the players will arrive tired, but we are always talking about the same thing.”
Confidence in South American Teams
Regarding the role that River Plate and Boca Juniors could play, the Argentine manager was clear: “They will compete, for sure. That’s something I like. Facing the biggest teams always gives you an extra boost. The result will be seen later, but I have no doubt they will be up to the challenge.”
