How Much Did Real Madrid Earn in the Club World Cup? A Million-Dollar Payout Despite the Heavy Loss
Despite suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semifinals, Real Madrid didn’t leave empty-handed. The team led by Xabi Alonso earned a total of $80 million USD thanks to their performance in the FIFA-organized tournament.
A Multi-Million Dollar Prize for Top-Level Competition
Out of that $80 million, approximately $34 million came simply for participating. To that, around $4 million were added from their wins over Pachuca and Salzburg in the group stage, plus about $1 million for their opening draw against Al Hilal.

Advancing to the round of 16 and defeating Juventus boosted their earnings by another $26 million, while their quarterfinal win over Borussia Dortmund, which sent them to the semis, added nearly $21 million more, totaling $80 million from this edition of the tournament.
Had they reached the final, they could have earned an additional $30 million, but that hope quickly faded after PSG scored twice in the opening nine minutes.
Farewell to Two Real Madrid Legends
Beyond the result, the match also marked the final appearance of Luka Modric and Lucas Vázquez in a Real Madrid jersey—closing an era of success for the club.
Modric, who joined in 2012, became the most decorated player in club history with 28 titles, including six Champions League trophies. He played 597 matches, and at 39 years old, will continue his career at AC Milan.
Lucas Vázquez, who returned to the club in 2015, departs with 23 trophies, including five Champions League titles. A versatile and respected member of the squad, he made a lasting impression with his dedication and adaptability.
Both players came on in the closing minutes of the match against PSG, on an emotionally charged night. Their teammates embraced them at the final whistle, bringing an unforgettable chapter in Real Madrid’s history to a close.
