Spain defeated France 2-0 on Tuesday at Dallas Stadium to become the first finalist of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The victory sends La Roja to its first World Cup final since winning the title in 2010, while France will now play in the third-place match.
Here are the goals and biggest moments from this showdown between two of Europe's soccer powerhouses.
SPAIN TAKES THE LEAD FROM THE PENALTY SPOT
Spain broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute after Mikel Oyarzabal converted from the penalty spot.
The Real Sociedad forward scored his fifth goal of the tournament, tying the record for the most goals by a Spanish player in a single FIFA World Cup, previously set by Emilio Butragueño and David Villa.
Oyarzabal calmly slotted a left-footed strike into Mike Maignan's left corner, marking the first time France has trailed at the 2026 World Cup.
The penalty was awarded after Lucas Digne fouled Lamine Yamal inside the box, bringing down the Spain winger near the left edge of the penalty area.
SPAIN DOUBLES ITS LEAD AS FRANCE FALLS
Pedro Porro put Spain firmly in control in the 58th minute after a superb team move that began following a loose clearance by the French defense.
The Tottenham Hotspur fullback combined brilliantly with Fabián Ruiz and Dani Olmo before playing a slick one-two with the Barcelona midfielder. Porro then surged into the penalty area and finished to make it 2-0, leaving the defending runners-up on the ropes.
France looked stunned after conceding the second goal. From Didier Deschamps' reaction on the sideline to Les Bleus' lack of attacking threat under captain Kylian Mbappé, the match appeared to be slipping away.
