England boasts the deadliest duo ever seen at a World Cup
England continue to advance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, powered by an attacking partnership that has already earned a special place in the tournament’s history.
Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have scored six goals each, making them the first pair from the same national team to reach six or more goals in a single edition of the World Cup.
Kane and Bellingham set a historic record
Never before, since the inaugural World Cup in 1930, had a national team featured two players capable of scoring at least six goals in the same tournament.
Kane and Bellingham reached that mark during England’s run to the semifinals. While the captain provides experience, leadership and clinical finishing inside the box, the Real Madrid midfielder brings energy, late runs into the area and an extraordinary ability to deliver in decisive moments.
12 of England’s 13 goals
Kane and Bellingham have scored 12 of England’s 13 goals at the 2026 World Cup, meaning only one of the Three Lions’ goals has been scored by another member of the squad.
The statistic highlights both the duo’s effectiveness and the considerable dependence Thomas Tuchel’s side has developed on its two biggest stars.
Kane targets another Golden Boot
For Harry Kane, reaching six goals also confirms his extraordinary consistency at World Cups.
The striker also scored six goals at Russia 2018, where he won the Golden Boot, and he is once again among the leading candidates to finish as the tournament’s top scorer.
Bellingham also shines
Although Kane began the tournament as England’s main goal-scoring threat, Bellingham has grown in importance during the knockout rounds.
The midfielder was decisive in the 2-1 quarterfinal victory over Norway, scoring both goals that sent England through to the semifinals.
His performance confirmed his emergence as one of the tournament’s most decisive players and took his tally to six goals, level with the England captain.
A duo keeping England’s dream alive
England still need to overcome the final obstacles of the tournament, but the performances of their two stars have kept hopes of lifting the World Cup once again firmly alive.
Kane and Bellingham are not only leading the Three Lions into the decisive stages. They are also forming the most prolific goal-scoring duo any national team has ever produced in a single edition of the World Cup.
