Pedri's Prophetic Prediction: He Said Spain Would Reach the World Cup Final a Year Ago
More than a year ago, Pedri posted a mysterious date on social media. Now, after Spain secured its place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, that message has taken on a whole new meaning and stunned fans around the world.
Spain’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final has generated plenty of headlines, not only because of the team's impressive performances under Luis de la Fuente, but also because of a cryptic social media post from Pedri that now appears to have predicted the team's journey.
Following Spain’s defeat to Portugal in the 2025 UEFA Nations League Final, the Barcelona midfielder shared a post featuring only a sequence of numbers: 19-07-26. At the time, few understood its meaning, but it has since been revealed that the numbers matched the scheduled date of the 2026 World Cup Final.
The coincidence has sparked widespread reactions, with many supporters believing the Spanish star never stopped believing that Spain would make it to football's biggest stage.
A Social Media Post That Suddenly Makes Sense
When Pedri first published the message, it attracted little attention. However, everything changed after Spain defeated France in the semifinals to book its place in the championship match.

Following the victory, the midfielder shared another post using the exact same date, this time adding an unlocked padlock emoji. Many fans interpreted it as a sign that a long-term goal had finally become reality.
The original post had also received a response from Lamine Yamal, who replied with pointing-up emojis, reflecting the confidence that already existed within the Spanish squad long before the tournament reached its decisive stage.
Spain Eyes Another World Cup Title
While the story behind Pedri's prediction continues to capture attention, the team's focus remains firmly on the final. Luis de la Fuente's squad earned its place by eliminating a talented France side and successfully containing stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Michael Olise.
Although Pedri began the tournament as a regular starter, the Spanish coach has recently relied more heavily on Fabián Ruiz during the knockout rounds, leaving questions about who will start in the World Cup Final.
