Agent Sues Barcelona Over Koundé Transfer
Football agent Isaac Tutumlu has filed a lawsuit against FC Barcelona, demanding €3 million in commission for allegedly brokering the transfer of Jules Koundé.
Unpaid Commission Dispute
Tutumlu claims that after several failed attempts to reach an agreement with the club, he was left with no choice but to take legal action. According to him, Barcelona president Joan Laporta personally asked him on June 10, 2022, to facilitate negotiations using his connection with Ramón Rodríguez "Monchi", then Sevilla’s sporting director. However, Barcelona denies any involvement from Tutumlu in the deal or any obligation to pay him.
Background and Evidence
Tutumlu had previously assisted in Luuk de Jong’s loan move to Barcelona, successfully negotiating with Sevilla. He claims that Barcelona’s interest in Koundé was already discussed at that time. The agent insists he played a key role in securing Koundé’s transfer, preventing him from joining Chelsea.
He also claims to have emails, messages, and records of meetings with Mateu Alemany, Monchi, Laporta, and even Xavi to back up his case. Initially, Tutumlu could have demanded 10% of the transfer fee as commission, but he ultimately settled for 6% (€3 million), which he is now pursuing through the courts.
