Ancelotti Defends Vinícius And Criticizes Sanctions: "It's Difficult To Be Him"
Real Madrid coach Carlos Ancelotti stated this Wednesday that they are "delighted in every way" with Brazilian player Vinícius Júnior and lamented that when discussions focus on the provocations attributed to the player, "attention is diverted to the insults" he receives.
Ancelotti spoke about Vinícius during a press conference ahead of training at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, next to the stadium where Los Blancos will play the second semifinal of the Supercopa against Mallorca this Thursday.
According to the coach, the two-match ban imposed on the Brazilian forward by the Disciplinary Committee for his action against Valencia goalkeeper Dimitrievski is "not fair."
"It's difficult to be Vinícius," the Italian coach emphasized, referring to the treatment the player receives from some fans in the stadiums where he plays.
When asked if the Brazilian international should correct some aspects of his behavior, Ancelotti firmly stated: "I still believe we are delighted with Vinícius in every way."
"I'm tired because when we talk about Vinícius' provocations, attention is diverted to the insults and everything else that happens to him," he complained.
Ancelotti refused to comment on the situation involving Barcelona players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who have been unable to play since January 1 after losing their registration due to Barcelona failing to submit the required documentation on time to comply with LaLiga's financial control regulations.
"Everything surrounding the match is something I don't want to comment on because these are topics I prefer not to discuss," he said.
