Ancelotti Shuts Down Brazil Rumors: “I Have a Contract With Real Madrid Until 2026”
The Italian coach reaffirmed his commitment to the Spanish giants despite recent setbacks and growing speculation linking him to the Brazil national team.
Ancelotti focused on Madrid, not the Seleção
Carlo Ancelotti made it clear that his only priority is to honor the contract that binds him to Real Madrid until June 30, 2026. Speaking to the press ahead of the match against Alavés, the Italian tactician was blunt in shutting down any idea of leaving the club at the end of the season to take charge of Brazil.
“That’s not a question I need to answer because the contract is very clear. I have one more year, and we’ll talk about the future as always at the end of the season,” said Ancelotti, following a recent meeting with club president Florentino Pérez.
Despite a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals and sitting four points behind Barcelona in the LaLiga title race, the coach emphasized that his mind is fully focused on turning the situation around.
Club support remains strong despite tough times
The Italian coach expressed gratitude for the club’s support during this challenging stretch of the season. “The club always supports and helps me, especially during difficult times,” said Ancelotti.
Real Madrid has suffered back-to-back defeats in crucial fixtures, first in the domestic league and then in Europe. Still, the manager remained calm and optimistic.
“Every defeat brings a difficult moment. You have to think about how to bounce back and stay focused on what’s coming. Fortunately, football is like that—it gives you a chance to recover those good feelings, and we’ve done that many times before,” he added.
With a daunting second leg against Arsenal looming at the Santiago Bernabéu, and a decisive clash with Barcelona still ahead in the league, Carlo Ancelotti insists: there’s no plan B—his path remains tied to the Real Madrid bench.
