Barcelona’s Income Boost of Over $200 Million
FC Barcelona has sold 60% of the VIP boxes at the future Spotify Camp Nou, a move that will generate annual revenue of €33.5 million, totaling approximately €266 million over the next 7 to 10 years. This operation was announced by the club's spokespersons during an informational session for members at the Auditori 1899.
Progress on the Spotify Camp Nou Renovation
The vice president of institutional affairs at FC Barcelona, Elena Fort, and the director of operations for Espai Barça, Joan Sentelles, explained that the club plans to have 90% of the first and second-tier seating capacity ready before April. Sentelles mentioned that they are working towards hosting matches at the Camp Nou this season and, if everything goes well, the stadium might be ready by the end of the season. However, he clarified that it couldn't be confirmed if the move would happen this year due to possible unforeseen issues.
Upcoming Projects and Timelines
Fort also highlighted that the Spotify Camp Nou is expected to be fully operational with a capacity of 104,600 spectators by the start of the 2026-2027 season. Additionally, the club’s future ice rink will be the only one in Catalonia capable of hosting international ice skating and ice hockey competitions.
The club has already begun working on the playing field, which is expected to be completed by mid-April. The roof construction is planned for after the 2025/26 season. The club has also requested authorization from the Barcelona City Council to work 24/7, six days a week, with more than 3,000 people involved in the project.
