Bellingham Apologizes for Red Card and Thanks Fans for Their Support
Jude Bellingham, the English midfielder for Real Madrid, has put the controversy behind him after his red card at El Sadar against Osasuna. Referee José Luis Munuera Montero showed him a straight red for an incident that the player wanted to clarify. Through his social media, Bellingham apologized to his teammates and thanked Madrid fans for their understanding.
His Version of Events
After the match, the Englishman spoke to the media in the mixed zone to make it clear that he never intended to insult the referee. He insisted that his words were "fuck off" and not "fuck you," as Munuera Montero wrote in the match report.
On Sunday, Bellingham reinforced his message with a post on social media: "Enough has been said about the misunderstanding. I just want to apologize again for leaving my teammates in such a tough spot and thank the fans for their support and understanding. See you on Wednesday at home."
He shared the message alongside a photo of himself training, already focused on Real Madrid’s next big challenge in the Champions League against Manchester City.
