Dean Huijsen’s Salary Revealed: The New Real Madrid Signing That Has Xabi Alonso Excited
It seems all but confirmed that Dean Huijsen will be the first signing for Xabi Alonso’s upcoming project at Real Madrid. The 20-year-old Spanish-Dutch center-back, currently with AFC Bournemouth, is on the verge of joining Los Blancos after negotiations picked up serious pace in recent days.
Long-Term Deal with a Progressive Salary
According to journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon, Huijsen is set to sign a five-year contract, earning an initial salary of €9 million gross per season, with potential performance-based increases that could push it up to €11 million by the end of the deal.
Real Madrid has committed to paying the defender’s €58 million release clause, which will be distributed across three installments.
A Signing Backed by the New Manager
Huijsen’s arrival is more than a market opportunity—it’s a strategic move requested by Xabi Alonso. The incoming coach has reportedly spoken directly with the player, letting him know he sees him as a key piece in the revamp of the club’s backline.
Despite strong interest from European giants like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich, Huijsen was drawn to Madrid’s project and the prestige of wearing the white shirt.
Medical Exam Incoming
As reported by Matteo Moretto, everything is in place for Huijsen to undergo his medical examination in the coming hours, the final step before putting pen to paper. Barring any last-minute surprises, he will become Real Madrid’s first reinforcement for the upcoming 2025 Club World Cup.
With this signing nearly done, Madrid will shift focus to other targets. Trent Alexander-Arnold, set to become a free agent after leaving Liverpool, and promising full-back Álvaro Carreras are next on the agenda.
At just 20 years old, Dean Huijsen is poised to become the new leader of Real Madrid’s defense.
