Flick Named LaLiga’s Best Coach After Dominating With Barcelona Over Real Madrid
The German coach led a historic season with the Catalan club and was honored for his overwhelming success in Spanish football.
A Perfect Season for the German Strategist
Hansi Flick, head coach of Barcelona, has been recognized as the best manager in LaLiga following a dominant 2024-25 campaign in which he clearly outshined Real Madrid. The Coaches Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) awarded him the prestigious “Banquillo de Oro,” acknowledging his extraordinary first season at the helm.
In his debut year, Flick secured a domestic treble — winning LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup — leading a revitalized squad that proved unstoppable throughout the season. Beyond results, the RFEF praised his sportsmanship, leadership, and the positive values he instilled within the team.
Awards Across Divisions
In Segunda División, Julián Calero earned the honor after guiding Levante to promotion as league champions. Meanwhile, in the Liga F (Spain’s top women’s division), Pere Romeu, also of Barcelona, received the same distinction after clinching all three major trophies — mirroring Flick’s achievement.
The RFEF emphasized that the awards were based not only on sporting success but also on integrity and professionalism shown throughout the season. In Flick’s case, his ability to rebuild and inspire a winning squad in record time was seen as a major accomplishment.
