Griezmann's Future Clarified: MLS Path or Continuation at Atlético Madrid?
Griezmann held a meeting during this international break with the directors of Atlético Madrid to finalize the details of his near future
Having been withdrawn from the French national team after their elimination in the semifinals of the last Eurocup against Spain, Antoine Griezmann has had time to rest during this international break. However, he has also had time to think, reflect, and consider what his future will look like next season: Will he go to the MLS, or will he continue with Atlético Madrid?

Griezmann and Atlético Madrid are determined to stay together
According to various media outlets in both Spain and France, Antoine Griezmann held a meeting during this international break with the directors of Atlético Madrid to finalize his more immediate future... and it seems everything is becoming clearer. In fact, Diario AS reported that the conclusion both sides reached after the meeting is that they would like to continue together for another season.
With a salary exceeding 12 million euros per year, making him the second-highest-paid player in the Atlético Madrid squad, there were doubts about the sporting director's willingness to keep him. However, it seems that both Diego Pablo Simeone and the club's board are eager to keep Antoine Griezmann for the upcoming season.
Griezmann Delays His Move to the MLS
Although he may no longer be at the level that placed him among the world's best players, leading to serious consideration for the Ballon d'Or 2018 after guiding France to the World Cup title, Griezmann remains an extremely valuable player for Atlético Madrid. In fact, he is the outfield player with the most minutes played (3,020') and the second-highest goal contributor (23), only behind Julián Álvarez.
Thus, despite turning 34 years old last week, it seems set that Antoine Griezmann will fulfill the remaining year of his contract with Atlético Madrid. Therefore, even though there might still be an unexpected twist, Griezmann will delay his dream of playing in the MLS for another season.
