Junior FC Confirms Mega Offer Made to James Rodríguez
Junior FC is on the brink of securing one of the most anticipated signings in Colombian football. The Barranquilla club is closely monitoring James Rodríguez's departure from Rayo Vallecano and is confident that the Colombian player will arrive in Barranquilla this week to negotiate his contract.
The Connection with Christian Daes and Negotiations with James
Fuad Char, one of the main shareholders of Junior, told W Radio that businessman Christian Daes, owner of Tecnoglass, has been instrumental in facilitating the approach to James. "He (Daes) is coming to Barranquilla and assured me yesterday that it’s possible James will come to Barranquilla. If not (today), it will be tomorrow to talk with him and finalize his contract," explained Char, expressing optimism about the arrival of the former Real Madrid player.
The coach of Junior, César Farías, also expressed excitement about the possibility of working with James Rodríguez. "He wants to work with James, put him in a physical state not to run 70 meters, but to harness his intelligence and magic," detailed Char, who expects the coach to meet with the player as soon as he arrives in the city.
The End of James’s Time at Rayo Vallecano
Sources close to Rayo Vallecano confirmed that James Rodríguez is about to terminate his contract with the club, which will mark the end of his time with the Madrid-based team. During his brief stint at the club, the Colombian played only 203 minutes in seven matches, without a prominent role. The last time he was called up was on December 7, 2024, but he did not play.
With this departure, James is facing a new chapter in his career, taking him back to Colombia after previous stints with teams like Everton, Al-Rayyan, Olympiacos, and Sao Paulo.
